Britney Spears bipolar?
Britney Spears suffers with manic depression, says TV psychologist
Britney Spears is suffering with bipolar disorder, fear friends and psychologists.
The troubled star spoke to TV psychiatrist, Dr Phil McGraw, before she left a psychiatric ward after failing to hand over her children to Kevin Federline when her court-appointed time with them was up.
Dr McGraw said: ‘My meeting left me convinced more than ever that she’s in dire need of medical and psychological intervention. I’m very concerned for her.’
Manic depression is a bipolar disorder that can lead to mood swings, reckless behaviour, delusions and hallucinations. It may be caused by emotional damage or genetic factors.
The singer left the Cedars Sinai Hospital psychiatric ward on Saturday and is being comforted by a British paparazzi snapper, Adnan Ghalib, who she claims is ‘her only friend’.
One source said: ‘Britney is on the edge. It’s worrying – and ironic – that the only person she feels she can turn to is a paparazzo.
‘It’s like the lamb going to stay with the wolfpack. Britney knows Adnan because he has followed her relentlessly for months.
‘Her family are astonished a photographer is the person Britney turns to when she needs to step out of the media storm.’
Her family is said to be frantic with worry, but her father Jamie was
the only one by her side when she was released from hospital.
Yesterday, it was also claimed that in the day and a half before she was taken to the Cedars Sinai ward, Britney swallowed 100 pills washed down with a Purple Monster- a mixture of vodka, anti-flu syrup and an energy drink.
On a positive note, her single Piece Of Me jumped from 46 to 19 in the UK charts yesterday, but this will, surely, be cold comfort.
