Contraindications

In no case should you undergo injection therapy with etamzilat hemostatic in acute porphyria, hemoblastosis, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Since the drug is able to make blood thicker, it should be abandoned to patients with thrombosis and thromboembolism.

In pregnancy, the drug can be used only with the consent of the obstetrician-gynecologist.

Dosing and Administration

Often the substance etamzilat is used as a prophylactic agent for surgical interventions. In this case, one hour before the operation, 1-2 ampoules of the solution should be injected, the same amount is administered during the operation and during the day - twice the amount of the drug.

If bleeding already occurs, doctors infuse 125-250 mg of etamzilat into the vein every 4-6 hours.

When diagnosing diabetic microangiopathy in the hospital, the patient receives 1-2 ampoules twice a day. After discharge, treatment with etamzilat should be maintained for 2-3 months.

Adverse reactions

Etamzilat is able to inhibit the body’s work. Sometimes patients complain of disorders of the central nervous system, manifested in the form of migraine, paresthesia, dizziness. Occasional glitches in the gastrointestinal tract can be seen. Like any other drug, Etamzilat can cause allergies.
