How to change the retractor relay
You will need
- - key "10";
- - key "13";
- - key TORX E5;
- - screwdriver;
- - extension for end heads;
- - face head "10".
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Unscrew the nuts of the hose clips, loosen them and remove the air intake hose first from the air filter housing and then from the air intake itself.
Remove the air intake. Then unscrew the nuts securing the heat shield. Using an extension cord and a “10” socket head, unscrew the bolt that secures the shield to the bracket of the right engine mount from the bottom of the car and remove the heat shield.
Remove the lower starter bolt on the bottom of the vehicle. Remove the two upper starter mounting bolts.
Remove the connector from the starter retractor terminal. Unscrew the nut and remove the wire from the upper contact bolt of the relay. Then lift the starter up.
Unscrew the nut securing the contact wire of the retractor relay using the Allen key “13”.Turn out bolts of fastening of the relay to a starter. It is better to do this using the TORX E5 key.
Disengage the relay anchor from the drive lever and remove the retractor. Install the new part. Ensure that the tip of the retractor relay engages with the drive lever.
Reinstall the starter and connect the wires, performing all operations in the reverse order.
