How to cook ear from the head of chum?

This recipe can be used to make soups from any salmon heads. It is to this species of fish that the chum belongs. Its meat contains trace elements, fatty acids and vitamins, so the first dishes are healthy. You can raise the immune system.

After cutting the carcass head, do not throw away. Put it in the freezer. When you have 4 heads, you can boil a delicious ear. Pay attention to the preparation: wash your head thoroughly, but rather soak in water for 30 minutes. Remove eyes and gills. Rinse again.


  1. Put the heads in boiling water. Boil 30 min. Remove foam from the surface.
  2. Sprinkle with salt, add peppercorns and whole onions. Cut potatoes into bars. Boil for 20 minutes. For 2 minutesuntil ready, insert a bay leaf.
  3. Remove the heads from the soup, separate the meat from the bones and put it back into the pan.

You can cook the soup longer to boil down the potatoes. From this taste will not suffer. Before serving, remove the bay leaves from the soup and decorate with fresh herbs.

Recipe of buckwheat soup with buckwheat groats

With buckwheat, the first dish will turn out to be more satisfying and healthier.


  • 4 fish heads;
  • 4 potatoes;
  • bulb;
  • carrot;
  • 200 grams of buckwheat;
  • 10 g of dried dill;
  • 2 bay leaves;
  • salt and black pepper to taste.

This amount of ingredients is designed for 3 liters of water. If you have one fish head, you can make soup from it, but then take liquids 3 times less.


  1. Remove the gills and eyes. Put your head in boiling water. Foam remove.
  2. Add the whole onion and carrot to the soup, insert the bay leaf. Boil the broth for 1 hour on low heat.
  3. Pull the bay leaf. Remove the head from the soup, separate the pulp from the bones.
  4. Slice the potatoes. Boil 25 min. Expand it with a fork. Pour buckwheat. Cook for 15 minutes. Add the chum meat, continue cooking for 5 minutes.

After readiness, tuck in your ear with dill.

The head can be served entirely in the soup, but this dish does not look aesthetically pleasing. If desired, make your ear more flavored. Pour in red pepper, ground paprika, add a mixture of herbs and cloves.

The soup from the head of chum is low in calories. 100 ml of soup contains only 35 kcal. This dish does not harm the figure, and will benefit the body.
