# How to estimate body weight

Instruction

**Calculate Quetelet Index**. The Quetelet index is one of the most popular indices among the existing ones. Calculated by the formula: weight (kg) divided by the square of height (m).

**Calculate Broca's index**. Developed in 1868. Normal body weight is calculated by the formula: subtract 100 from height (cm). With a high-bone and lean build (body constitution), it must be adjusted - subtract or add 10%, respectively.

**Calculate the Breitman index**. Normal body weight is calculated by the formula: height (cm) multiplied by 0.7 and subtract 50 (kg).

**Calculate the Borngardt Index**. The ideal body weight is calculated by the formula: increase (cm) multiplied by the circumference of the chest (cm) and divided by 240.

**Calculate Noorden Index**. Normal weight is calculated by the formula: height (cm) multiplied by 420 and divided by 1000.

**Calculate the index Tatonya**. Normal weight is calculated by the formula: subtract (100+ (height-100) / 20) from height (cm).
