How to make a homemade wind turbine

You will need
  • - rotor;
  • - metal barrel or bucket;
  • - generator;
  • - voltmeter;
  • - Relay for battery charging;
  • - drill;
  • - mast;
  • - the switch;
  • - keys;
  • - charge lamp relay;
  • - wires;
  • - nippers;
  • - screwdriver;
  • - clamps;
  • - bolts;
  • - tape measure;
  • - marker;
  • - scissors for metal or Bulgarian.
Select generator type and power
Both vertical and horizontal models of wind generators are suitable for self-installation. However, assembling and installing a horizontal wind generator is more difficult. Rotary - vertical - the generator has a higher removal rate of air and is much easier to balance.
You should know that the greater the power of the generator, the more difficulties may arise during its installation and balancing.
Fill the three-point foundation. The area and depth of the foundation depends on the quality of the soil, as well as the climatic features of the area.It should be noted that the wind turbine mast can be installed only after the foundation has completely solidified - approximately in a week.
Alternatively, the installation of the mast can be used stretching. Dig a hole about 0.5 meters deep. Install the mast and fix it with stretch marks.
Select rotor diameter for average wind speed.
Make a wind turbine blades. To do this, take a metal barrel and divide it into four equal parts, making marks using a marker. Cut blades with a grinder or scissors for metal. Make the necessary measurements and mark the attachment points. Attach the workpiece to the generator using bolts. Bend the blades to the desired value.
Attach the wires to the generator and assemble the circuit. Secure the generator to the mast. Attach the wires to the mast and connect the generator to the circuit. Connect the battery to the circuit. Connect the load using wires. Your wind generator is ready.
