PVC pipe stand

I decided to make a stand for screwdrivers and pliers. It should be fixed to the table, since in the near future it is planned to move the workplace. I also wanted to be able to change its size depending on the number of available tools. Considering the various options, I came to the conclusion that I could quickly and easily make a stand made of PVC pipes. Tools:
  • Roulette.
  • Marker.
  • Hacksaw (or scissors for plastic pipes).
  • Drill and drill.
  • Clamps .
  • Scraper.
  • Rubber hammer.
Materials:Below are the materials I used. Their dimensions will depend on the dimensions of your stand.
  • 150 cm 12 mm PVC pipe.
  • 2 mm PVC tee 45 degrees.
  • 12 mm PVC tee 90 degrees.
  • 12 mm PVC outlet 90 degrees.
  • 12 mm PVC plugs.
  • wood screws.
  • glue for PVC

We measure and cut PVC pipes

To find outWhat is the length of the pipe I need, I laid out a screwdriver hardly at a distance of 4 cm from each other. Thus, it turned out to be 62 cm (do not forget to leave space for the fitting along the edges). For smaller screwdrivers and keys, the pipe length was 30 cm.

We drill and process the holes with a scraper

With a marker, I marked every 4 cm across the pipe 62 cm and drilled holes in them. First 6 mm, then 8 mm with a drill bit. I hardly managed to drill them in line, but small deviations do not greatly affect the functionality of the stand. Then you need to check whether all the screwdrivers fit in the pipe. After cleaning the holes, I found that for some screwdrivers they are too small, so I expanded them with a scraper. For screwdrivers of small size and pliers I made holes with the same diameter of 8 mm, but arranged them denser.

Cut off the sleeve and hold the assembly

It is important that when fastening the sleeve the gap on all the elements is the same, it is better if the outlet and the tee are adjacent to each other. Using gentle blows of the hammer, connect the parts more tightly. At this stage the sleeves can be put on glue, but I decided to skip this step. Next, I assembled the whole design and made sure that everything fits the size.

Make holes in the stubs and fasten them to the table

Having inserted the plugs in the lower part of each tee, I put a stand to the place of attachment and made marks through the holes where I needed to make holes for the screws. After that, I screwed the plugs to the table and put the assembled stand on them. The construction can be secured with glue, but it turned out to be quite stable in me.
