Very often in the manufacture of handicrafts it is necessary to use sandpaper to fit or finish the product. For such cases, I suggest to make a small grater, which will facilitate the process of sanding. Its advantages - well keeps sandpaper, comfortable in the hand, the ability to quickly replace the sandpaper.
To make you need: - pieces of multi-layer plywood with a thickness of 16 mm; - screw with a wing nut and washer; - thin carnations; - a drill, a drill - pieces of fine rubber, glue - epoxy resin or glue. Grater consists of two parts - the base-iron and the pressing holder, which are connected with a wing nut screw.
The base has equally tapered edges on all sides.
The pressing holder is the size of the upper plane of the base.
There is a screw for fixing the holder in the center of the base. Screw with the lamb using the one that you have in stock, so its diameter is not indicated. The length of the screw should be about 4 cm. Combine the base and holder and a drill bit slightly larger than the diameter of the screw drill through the center through the hole Reverse the hole on the base of the base so that the screw head is completely hidden. Drill a hole in the screw head for a small stud that acts as a stopper. We hitch the stud head.style>img src="https://sdelaysam-svoimirukami.ru/images/15/1413-terka-dlya-nazhdachnoy-bumagi.jpg" alt="Grater for emery paper" title="Grater for emery paper">
To embed a stud-stop, we make a slot on both sides of the screw head hole.
You can select the slot by grinder or chisel. When the screw with the stopper is installed in the slot with the slot, fill the cavity with epoxy or epoxy glue. After hardening the resin, we remove the protruding part with sandpaper.
For so that the holder does not move, we make guides.
Mouth pour the holder exactly on the base, fasten a lamb through the washer. Choose two studs for the guides (diameter 2-2.5 mm). We are preparing two drills - with a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the stud and a little more. With a “smaller” drill in the base, through the holder we drill a not through hole for guides. We drive carnations into the base into the holes, we bite the caps. In the holder from the base side with a “big” drill, we ream holes for the free entry of guides.
To securely press the sandpaper to the inside corners of the holder, glue the pieces of thin rubber glue "Moment" or other similar.Speakers parts of rubber cut off flush with the sides.
Install clamps for easy sandpaper change. These are thin carnations (1 mm in diameter), which we drive along the long sides of the base.
We bite the nails at a height of 2-3 mm from the ground plane. We put on the holder, with a slight pressure on the inner side of the holder, the dented marks from the retainers remain. Markings expand and deepen awl. Putting on sandpaper. Cut a piece of emery paper measuring 10 x 10 cm. We pierce one edge in the middle with a retainer, wrap the emery paper around the base and hook it with the second retainer (we pierce it).
We put the holder on top, we put a thumb on it. The tool is ready for use. After erasing the sandpaper, we remove it, rotate it 90 degrees, fix it on the grater again, and for a while it is still suitable for work.
