This Woman DGAF What You Think About How a Mom Handles Her Own Kid's Tantrums
Most moms understand the struggle of not knowing what to do when their child throws a tantrum. Yes, you may be in public. And, yes, it may be embarrassing at the time. But when bribing them with candy, consoling them, and dragging them to the car doesn't work, there is often nothing else you can do. It's nothing to be ashamed of — and it doesnotmean you are a bad mother.
Blogger and mother of four Candace Hall can relate, and she took to after she heard one woman shame another woman for waiting out her kid's meltdown — or, as that woman put it, "just sitting there."
As a mother herself, Hall knows that "being there and doing nothing are two very different things," because "any seasoned expert will tell you that sometimes the only thing you can do, is nothing. Time will heal all tantrums."
The comment section of Hall's viral post — with over 55,000 likes as of Wednesday afternoon — is filled with mothers collectively typing "yes!" and sharing powerful anecdotes.
One wrote that her son is autistic and it's common for him to have meltdowns, in a comment that has received more than 3,900 likes. "A few months ago at school pick-up, he had a massive meltdown in the footpath. All I could do was lie on him on the concrete (he likes the pressure) and wait for it to pass," she shared. "Stood up and walked through the sea of parents who were staring with our heads held high. It was the first time I didn't give a fuck what others thought."
That's right, moms — give zero fucks.
