What is a highway?

Motorists are often interested in what a highway is. This word is from English. “Highway” literally translates as “fast track”. In other words, a highway is a highway on which cars move only at high speeds (there may be a speed limit of 60-80 km / h on different highways). In addition, it is forbidden to move in reverse and stop on a high-speed highway (except on specially designated “pockets” in unforeseen emergency situations).

Highways are highways that do not intersect on the same level with tram or railway tracks, other highways, tracks for horse-drawn or bicycle transport, and pedestrian roads. In one direction, such a road is equipped with at least two or three lanes. Counter highways of one high-speed highway are most often divided by chippers or other barriers.
